Steps

Character Design - Create sketches of characters and decide as a group which character your group will use. Remember to keep your characters simple.
character is limited to three colors in addition to black and white
character must have joints and be able to move. 

Synopsis- With your group, write a short synopsis of your 2 minute scene.

Script- Create a short script using Celtx or word with the correct script formatting showing dialogue that will be used. The scene is 2 minutes long.  You may use words or songs in your commercial, but sound must be clear.  You can use only sound effects if you choose.

Background Design- Create sketches of the set for each scene. Keep in mind resources and set.

Story Board-Create a story board showing shots and indicating lighting, camera placement, and point of view. Make a list of needed materials.

Meet with instructor to get the "GO" on your project. Make sure all components are organized and ideas are precise and clear.

Create set, backgrounds, and clay character(s).

Set up background, lighting, camera, tripod, and shoot project. Keep in mind key frames while shooting your project (collection of still images, NOT VIDEO). You need to show all in between movement to make movement look real when editing in iMovie.

Load single images into iMovie and edit frames together making the claymation come to life.

Render Film and submit your project.

Objective: Introduction to film making through understanding keyframes

Task: With your group, create a character and a short 2 minute scene to be used as a short commercial animation to promote the strengths of Sun Valley High School.  Your audience is other students your age who may be interested in attending SVHS.  This commercial severs as propaganda and should be persuasive to the viewer.  The commercial animation should be captivating and to the point but not too literal.
